These statues show the various stages of life of Ramses II. The second from the left fell off after an ancient earthquake.

Two things I noticed about Abu Simbel--the guy on the right doesn't have a goatee--whats up with that? Also, the guy second from the left doesn't seem to exist--I've never met anyone who was born with just a pair of legs and no torso or head, but then again I never lived back in the day when it took a pyramid to bury a person. Guess you learn something new every day...
I love the pics! I can't wait until I am there over the holidays so I can hear all about the trip in person. You look like you had a great time!
